This September, Mini Moony turns 2.
Two whole years of pampering, parties, giggles, birthday wishes and excited little faces at our children’s pamper party venue in Havant, near Portsmouth.
That feels like a real moment. Not just a business milestone, but a personal one too. Because Mini Moony did not begin with a big business plan, a spreadsheet or a polished strategy.
It began with me being a mum.
A mum who had been to plenty of children’s parties. A mum who knew how much love parents pour into birthdays. A mum who also knew how quickly those parties can become loud, busy and slightly overwhelming.
And I kept coming away thinking the same thing.
Why I created Mini Moony
As a mum of two, I had been to my fair share of children’s celebrations.
Soft play parties. Village hall parties. Big group parties. Parties where everyone is having fun, but there is so much going on that the adults barely sit down.
There is food to sort, children to check on, candles to find, presents to gather, drinks to pour, shoes to locate and a cake moment that somehow always feels bigger than expected.
You spend so much time, care and money trying to create an amazing day for your child. Then suddenly, it is over.
Sometimes I would get home and think, did I actually enjoy any of that with my child?
Did I stop long enough to watch their face?
Did I notice the little moments?
Did they get time with their closest friends, or did the day rush past in a blur?
That question stayed with me.
I wanted to create something that felt gentler. Something that still had the excitement children love, but without the chaos that can come with large parties.
Mini Moony grew from that feeling.
Smaller children’s parties can create bigger memories
From the beginning, I knew I did not want Mini Moony to be about packing as many children as possible into one room.
I wanted the opposite.
I wanted the birthday child to walk in and feel seen. I wanted them to have time to settle, smile, chat, giggle and enjoy being celebrated.
A smaller party gives children space to be themselves. It gives friendships room to shine. It also means the birthday child can share the experience with the people they feel closest to.
That matters.
A party does not need to be huge to feel special. In fact, some of the loveliest moments happen when everything is a little calmer.
At Mini Moony, the children are not rushing from one thing to the next. They can enjoy the pampering, soak up the excitement and feel part of something that has been made just for them.
For parents, that changes the experience too.
Instead of spending the whole time organising, chasing and checking, they can pause.

That was always part of the dream.

Children’s celebrations can shape how a child feels about themselves.
That does not mean every party has to be perfect. Children do not need perfection. They need warmth, attention and joy.

That has always been close to my heart as a mum.
I know how much pressure there can be around children’s celebrations. It is easy to feel like you need to do more, spend more and invite more people. But bigger does not always mean better.

Over the past two years, Mini Moony has welcomed so many children and families through the door.
Each party has had its own little personality.
Some children arrive full of confidence, ready to enjoy every second. Some are quieter at first, then slowly come out of their shell. Some cannot stop smiling. Some take the birthday role very seriously, in the sweetest way.
No two parties feel exactly the same, and that is part of what I love most.
We have seen friendships, laughter, excited whispers, birthday wishes and the kind of happy faces that remind me why this all began.
Being based in Havant, near Portsmouth, has made it even more special. Mini Moony feels rooted in the local community. I wanted to create a place where children could feel special and where parents could enjoy the celebration too.
Two years later, that is still what guides everything.
